The aim and objectives of the program is
To provide comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental areas of psychology: general psychology, social, developmental, clinical psychology, to provide a deep theoretical basis for understanding, interpreting and analyzing the structure, development, and pathological manifestations of the psyche.
To develop the professional abilities of students by teaching the principles and methods of psychodiagnosis, conducting psychological research, and psychological counseling.
To develop students' general mental abilities: analysis, comparison and comparison, critical thinking, the ability to find, interpret and present information from different sources.
To develop students' work performance in accordance with their field and level of study.
To help them apply their professional skills in various spheres of modern social life.
Career opportunities for graduates
Graduates of the "Psychology" educational program will have the opportunity of independent professional activity in the fields of psychodiagnosis, psychological support, health, professional activity, social care and education.
Graduates can work
in care and protection day care centers; as specialists providing social care and psychological support,
in elementary and high schools as a psychodiagnostic,
developmental, soul-soothing and supportive psychologist-specialists,
as staff psychologists in organizations,
under the guidance of an experienced psychologist (under supervision) in psychological service centers as specialists performing psychological diagnosis and support.
Graduates of the program may continue their studies at a master's degree.
Resources and forms of learning support
Various resources are available to support learning in this program: professional literature (in Armenian, Russian and English), an electronic library, computer programs for quantitative research, classrooms adapted for conducting lectures using modern information technologies. Students participate in the work of laboratories, as well as in cross-cultural studies carried out by laboratories within the framework of international cooperation.
The teaching staff of the faculty uses innovative methods and means of teaching and learning: debates, small group work, research assignments, which contribute to the achievement of the educational outcomes of the program.
